Red panda's have a viviparous reproduction cycle. Usually 2 but sometimes 1-4 cubs are born live at birth and stay in then the nest with their mother for atleast 6 months, sometimes more. There is also a 19% death rate for stillborns or cubs dying on the day of birth. The mother nurses them and carries them around in her mouth until they leave the nest. Sometimes, unfortunately the mothers can over groom, if stressed, and the cubs can lose a ear ir tail.
